Escopa 2 Annual Report 2010

Some points of interest:

Escopa 2 Library is very active in conducting storytelling sessions in the community. The activities reached 4,145 persons alone.

The library has a collection of 1,144 titles, down from 1832 at the start of the year.

All materials were encoded at the Openbiblio by August, from 835 in 2009, the volume stands at 1545 in 2010.

Additional staff was placed at Escopa 2 to address the closures of the library last July.

The staff attended the following trainings: Report Making, Openbiblio Encoding, Indexing, Libreng Tutorial Module, Local History and Purpose Driven Life Seminar.

The library is very strong to elementary grade school students and most materials consulted is literature.

The library must promote the library to the other age group.

The library must add more to the collection, make a survey on what materials should be acquired and solicited. Dictionaries are needed in this library.

The plan to relocate the library in the first floor should be pursued. Plans were made since Mayor Sonny Belmonte's term, early 2009. Dictionaries are also needed in this library.

Escopa Branch is being supervised by Ms. Jenny Quilaquil and assisted by Ms. Carla Mendoza.
